Remote work
Remote work on trainee.digital: paid data tasks, your hours, no employer
Not a job board and not an agency. trainee.digital is a marketplace where companies post data annotation orders and you get paid per unit you complete — after one free quality review that takes the place of a CV and an interview.
How this differs from a remote job board
| Typical job board | trainee.digital | |
|---|---|---|
| What you apply to | Vacancies at other companies | Concrete annotation orders with a stated unit, volume, deadline and rate |
| Screening | CV, interviews, employer's process | One free 50-unit sample task, scored by a reviewer against a 70% bar |
| Who pays you | The employer, on their payroll | The platform balance, from client funds held in escrow and released on client approval |
| Commitment | Fixed hours, notice periods | Per-order: you take the units you want; the order deadline applies |
| Cost to you | Sometimes paid “pro” plans | Nothing — no fees for performers |
Practical conditions
- Where: anywhere with a stable connection; work is browser-based.
- Hours: you choose. There is no schedule and no minimum weekly volume — and equally no guaranteed volume.
- Equipment: a computer and a browser. Some image and DICOM tasks are easier on a larger screen.
- Status: independent performer, not an employee. You are responsible for your own taxes and reporting.
- Pay: per unit at the rate set by the client ($0.35–$0.90 per unit across open orders at the time of writing); withdrawals from a $100 balance.
The quality review: what is actually checked
Access to paid orders is gated by one free assessment task, not by a CV. You label a 50-unit sample once — one attempt, no cost — and a human reviewer scores it.
| What we score | How it is judged | Bar |
|---|---|---|
| Accuracy | Your labels vs. the reference answer for the sample, class by class. | Counts toward the 70% score |
| Consistency | Same case labeled the same way across the sample; no drifting rules. | Counts toward the 70% score |
| Completeness | Nothing skipped or left unlabeled; boundaries follow the rubric tolerance. | Counts toward the 70% score |
| Guideline compliance | Only the provided label set is used; ambiguous cases are flagged with a note instead of guessed. | Pass / fail |
- Result arrives in 24–48 hours after you submit.
- Pass the quality review and $5 is credited to your balance, plus the $5 welcome credit from signup — $10 total on a passing account.
- Passing also unlocks the full order feed, including premium orders that are visible but locked before vetting.
- Fail and nothing is charged to you; the account simply stays unvetted.
FAQ about working remotely here
Is there a fixed salary?
No. Earnings are units × the order rate; there is no hourly or monthly wage.
Do I need prior experience?
No. The assessment decides access, and entry-level orders sit next to specialist ones.
Can I work part time?
Yes. Take fewer units. The only hard constraint is the deadline on the order you accepted.
How do I get paid abroad?
You submit payout details with the withdrawal request (minimum $100) and we process it manually. Ask about a specific method at support@trainee.digital before you rely on it.
